Senior Geotechnical Engineer
URS is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist to join our team in Glasgow.
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist in our Glasgow office you will bring detailed experience of a wide range of Geotechnical Assessment and Design and will be required to manage ground investigations, slope assessments, EIA support across a diverse range of projects in the power, Renewables, Oil &Gas and infrastructure sectors, in the UK and overseas. You will work independently and travel (incl overseas) as required.
This position will see you fulfil a mid level role within the geotechnical assessment team and as such you will be able to work with a level of responsibility and independence. You will assist in the management of a portfolio of projects and as such your financial and project management skills along with detailed technical knowledge are essential.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology and ideally a Masters in Geotechnics. You will have achieved Chartered status of ICE or Geological Society or be actively working towards this. You will have been working in a similar role for a sufficient period of time to be fully conversant with all required technical and non technical standards and are able to work under your own initiative. Your career experience to date has provided you with in depth detailed geotechnical knowledge, covering a wide range of ground investigation, design, interpretation and reporting.
