Sustainability Manager - Water Sector and Utilities

Skanska are looking for a senior level Sustainability Manager to join the environment team and lead the delivery of our Water and Utilities sector Environmental performance across the UK. This role will report to the Sustainability Operations Director to support the delivery of Skanska's environmental strategy.

  • Lead a team of Contract based Environmental Managers and Advisors to deliver excellent environmental performance and drive Skanska Deep Green Strategy
  • Effectively collaborate with Joint Venture partners to promote the Skanska environmental / sustainability focus into the partnerships.
  • Implement the requirements of Skanska's Integrated Management System 'Our Way of Working' to meet the requirements of ISO 14001
  • Develop and implement customer and project specific action plans to deliver the 2020 Business Plan targets for environment and society
  • Take a lead role in, or contribute to UK environmental strategic projects to deliver the 2020 Business Plan.
  • Engage with the Leadership and Senior Management Teams, to keep environmental and sustainability issues at the top of the agenda
  • Provide regular performance reporting to the business and Environmental Leadership Teams
  • Be able to engage with current and future customers on Sustainability and Carbon, understand their needs and relate this back to the Business Plan.
  • Provide support to the Work Winning Team in relation to prequalification and tender submissions
  • Develop and deliver environmental and sustainability training including the CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS)
  • Undertake environmental audits and inspections at contract level and within the supply chain
  • Represent and promote the environment team in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums both internally and externally
  • We're looking for:

  • Proven experience in a similar environmental role
  • Degree level in appropriate Environmental discipline (ideal)
  • Associate or Practitioner Membership of IEMA or equivalent
  • Moderate IT Skills
