Assistant Project Manager - Thames Water

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join the Thames Water project to manage and drive performance, focusing on safety, cost, time, quality, and stakeholder engagement and integration performance.


  • Assist the Project Manager to Plan, lead and manage the delivery team to ensure an integrated, sustainable and effective solution is delivered which meets the requirements defined within the brief.
  • Assist the Project Manager to own an integrated programme of work to develop robust project solutions that take on board all operational interfaces and restrictions, construction thinking - to ensure successful on time, cost, quality of projects
  • Assist the Project Manager to ensure the operational business unit is not adversely impacted by the projects going on within its operational area, through working closely with operations & suppliers to define a robust delivery schedule that the operational business unit has approved. This will be achieved through understanding the competing programme & operational requirements and then through negotiation & comprise delivering the best schedule for all.
  • Assist the Project Manager to ensure well documented evidence of year on year capital efficiency of delivery is created & retained for on-going review and for end any regulatory audits.
  • Assist the Project Manager to ensuring that the approach to safety & corresponding procedures are sufficient in that Eight20's high standards for safety are met.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the mobilisation, establishment and performance management of the project(s).
  • Assist the Project Manager with driving performance improvement of supply chain, including performance against the professional collaboration behaviour.
  • Assist the Project Manager with ensuring the integration of design, development, and construction delivery, commissioning and process requirements is achieved.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the Accountabilites for driving high quality reporting of project performance using project controls tools, including earned value and quantitative risk analysis from the JV's
  • Assist the Project Manager to Monitor and review Eight20's interface with the supply chain, ensuring it is efficient, cost effective, and portrays the rightbehaviour to maximise the value of the JV Team

We're looking for:

  • Degree qualification in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent academic achievement
  • Professional qualifications (membership of an appropriate institution) or evidence
    demonstrating continued personal development.
  • Experience in a range of capital / revenue projects with a clear understanding of project management (ideally APM accredited)
  • Proven track record in planning and implementation of complex projects, within a live operational environment, with multiple stakeholder interfaces.
  • Experience of commercial and contractual environment
