Mattinson Partnership is supporting our multidisciplinary client with the appointment of a hydraulic modeller to their hydro team. You will be joining the Birmingham team where you'll work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK to support new developments through the planning system.

Your role;

Your role will vary on a daily basis and will see you contributing to a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects, including flood alleviation studies, flood risk assessment and development work. At this stage in your career, it's great to experience a variation of project work between sectors - in this role you'll be working with clients across residential, industrial and commercial sectors!

Production and analysis of 1D/2D hydraulic models will play a key part of your job, and may see you mentoring other team members in basic modelling technics. Your interest in Flood risk will also be an asset, as you'll lend a hand with the production of flood risk assessments and drainage strategies. You may also find yourself contributing to floodplain extent maps and outline designs of flood management measures.

What experience do you need?

  • A Degree,
  • An industry recognised professional qualification (or working towards one).
  • Experience of producing 1D/2D hydraulic modelling and utilising softwares; ISIS, TUFLOW, ESTRY, ISIS 2d, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks RS, MapInfo / ArcView, Micro Drainage FloodFlow.
  • Good client and stakeholder liaison skills.
  • An understanding of land development and national planning policy.
