An award winning engineering consultancy are seeking a Principal Engineer for their Geotechnical and Structures Team in Surrey. The successful applicant will support Directors developing design solutions for technically challenging projects across the UK and globally. Suitable applicants will have expert working knowledge of finite element modelling software packages such as Plaxis.

Working closely with other core engineering groups, the successful applicant will oversee project delivery for UK and international assignments focusing on solutions for deep excavations, earthworks, heavy piled foundations and embedded retaining walls.

This role will also involve mentoring engineers, managing client relationships and developing business opportunities.

Desired Skills & Experience:

A strong Civil Engineering academic background is required in addition to a post graduate qualification in geotechnics. Chartership status with a recognised UK civil engineering governing body is also a pre requisite.

Design experience required:

- Deep and shallow foundation design
- Earthworks design
- Settlement analysis
- Retaining wall design
- Slope stability assessment

Joining the management team, it is also imperative that applicants can demonstrate a track record of managing projects from acquisition through to delivery, overseeing team performance, project budgets and client liaison.
