We are making a major investment in our services to ensure that we can continue to plan positively for Swindon’s growth, to deliver high quality design and maintain a competitive and productive economy.

You will be responsible for providing an effective service covering all aspects of Transport Development Management across the Borough. Your role will play a critical part in assessing transport interventions associated with development sites, providing the Local Highway Authority decisions in the form of recommendations to the Local Planning Authority on the Highways and Transport infrastructure requirements.

Working within the national guidelines, contributing and developing Swindon’s own development standards you will deal with a range of projects varying in size and implications. Your will ensure timely responses on planning consultations and detailed design submissions and that records are compiled in accordance with Council policies.

This role will involve partnership working across service areas, in particular with Highways & Transport, Planning, Law and Democratic Services, and developers in the context of transport development management from planning approval to detailed design and inspection of new transport infrastructure.

In return we can offer a competitive salary, flexible working hours, a great working environment and a chance to be part of a service that offers excellent career prospects.
