Graduate Geotechnical Engineer - Oxford **Training Provided**
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading global multi-disciplinary Consultancy, in Oxford.
This role will enable you to complete Ground Investigations, perform in-situ testing and sampling on a variety of projects, often within areas of seismic activity and with environmental sensitivity.
Relevant industry experience would be desirable, but is not required as full training will be provided and there are excellent developmental opportunities.
Candidates are required to have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline including Geotechnics, Geology, Civil Engineering or similar. Having a MSc in a geotechnical field would be advantageous, but is not essential.
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Visiting sites to monitor and collect data
- Interpreting and analysing data
- Soil and Rock Logging in accordance with current standards
- Assisting in Ground Investigations of superficial deposits and bedrock
- Conducting in-situ testing and sampling
- Liaising with colleagues and suppliers
- Keeping accurate records
- Report writing
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable with a 'hands on' approach and be a great team player as well as being capable of working on your own initiative.
In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have knowledge of Ground Investigation techniques, and be passionate about working outdoors.
Holding a CSCS card and a First Aid certificate would be advantageous.
As the successful candidate will be required to visit sites away from the office, candidates must have a clean UK driver's licence.
