Geoenvironmental Consultant - County Durham
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a global multi-disciplinary consultancy, based in County Durham to assist with site exploration programmes.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to conduct Ground Investigations, complete Phase 1 Desk Studies and Quantitative Risk Assessments on a variety of onshore projects across the UK.
It is essential that candidates have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline including a BSc and MSc in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical Engineering or similar.
Candidates are required to have vast industry experience in a similar consultancy, completing Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigations, rock and soil logging, as well as site walk-overs and must have a keen interest in working on projects that have a focus on Contaminated Land.
As a Geoenvironmental Consultant, you will be expected to:
- Visit sites
- Conduct Phase 1 Desk Studies
- Complete Phase 2 Site Investigations
- Produce Geotechnical designs including Remediation Strategies
- Supervise Site Remediation works
- Carry out in-situ testing
- Drill, core and take samples of rocks and soils
- Complete borehole logging
- Write technical reports
- Carry out Contaminated Land Risk Assessments
- Mining and Subsidence Investigations
- Mentor junior members
The successful candidate will be organised and self-motivated, be adaptable with a dynamic and practical approach. Candidates must have demonstrable experience of working within a team and off their own initiative.
In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have working knowledge of Ground Investigation techniques, and an interest in field work.
As the successful candidate will be expected to visit sites away from the office, candidates are required to have a clean UK driver's licence.
