Salary dependent on skills and experience but up to £51,720 pa Plus Lease car or cash alternative of £3,050 pa
Are you a diverse, accomplished Civil Engineer with a ‘thirst for water’ and project management experience? Do you have the ability to deliver a multitude of wide ranging projects from inception to completion? If so, then Ashford Borough Council have the perfect opportunity for you in a thriving, dynamic town located in the heart of Kent’s enchanting countryside.
As the Council’s Project Delivery Engineer you will report directly to the Project Delivery Manager, delivering projects for a modern, forward thinking local authority with an expansive range of projects.
In addition to the ‘project delivery’ role you will also be a capable flood risk & surface water management / SuDS (Drainage) engineer, providing consultancy advice to the local planning authority (in conjunction with KCC as LLFA) on new planning applications. As such, a sound understanding in interpreting Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and Microdrainage (Or similar) calculation outputs is essential, along with a good understanding of national and local flood risk policies. Highways design experience would also be beneficial.
Applicants should ideally be Chartered, nearing their professional review, or have outstanding engineering knowledge and experience.
Project Management qualifications are preferable, however a proven record of project delivery (from inception to completion) in the public, or private sector, within multidisciplinary teams is essential. This should include experience in Contract Management (JCT / NEC3/4), writing specifications, managing variations (EW/CE), checking /reviewing drawings and quality assurance experience, ensuring specifications are adhered to and constructed.
Exceptional interpersonal skills are considered fundamental to effectively communicate with colleagues, contractors, Council Members and members of the public.
