About the Role

The Department of Infrastructure, Highway Services, would like to recruit a Senior Chartered Highways Design Engineer to work on all aspect of highway design, construction and project management with the Department's Design Section.

You will be required to be a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineering with five years post graduate experience in Highways Design. You should also have experience of highway civil engineering work including design, construction and project management within the Department of Infrastructure, Highway Services Division over the period of your development.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Departments highway assets
  • Overseeing and approving inspections of the Department's highway assets undertaken by other engineers
  • Carrying out detailed highway design, costing, programming, preparing of contract documents, detailed specifications and administration of the contract
  • Assisting with the Implementation and maintenance of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  • Ensuring all design standards are available and are regularly updated and incorporated into the design procedure
  • Ensuring target dates, critical milestones and budget costs are achieved

A full valid driving licence is essential for this post.
