We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced construction expert to work on a large scale rail programme with a leading railway engineering organization in the UAE. Candidates applying for this position will come from a Civil Engineering background and will have extensive experience working on large infrastructure and railway projects and will be highly experience in design review as well as construction of rail projects. The candidate placed in this position will be responsible for the effective management and coordination of project design, construction and building by working closely
with the project’s key stakeholders to ensure project is delivered and handed over in a timely manner and within the set budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects end-to-end management of assigned project by planning and organizing all
the various project related activities such as project planning, resource allocation, budget
management and issue and risk management, in accordance with project management
principles and tools
- Supervise the administration of assigned project and oversee the project team’s works in
designing and building the rail through on-going coordination with PMC and project team
members and contractors
- Work closely with the project’s architects, engineers and any appointed specialists or subject
matter experts in order to ensure project milestones are timely achieved and project delays
are effectively handled, in accordance with the approved project plan and timeline
- Provide on-going guidance and support on the execution of technical day-to-day operational
activities, in line with approved plan and documentation
- Plan, assess and revise the construction plan as and when required, in line with our client’s
business needs and requirements, in order to meet organizational objectives while
maintaining quality standards and enabling project delivery in a timely manner
- Ensure all project team members are continuously complying with established construction
standards and protocols, building codes and any other applicable industry practices and
regulatory requirements set forth by the UAE
- Review monthly progress reports consolidated by the PMC and Contractors staffed on the
project, address any raised issues or outstanding matters, liaising with Quality & Excellence
Department to identify risks, and effectively formulate an action plan to ensure the project’s
works and progress are not affected
- Conduct regular visits to the project’s site in order to maintain physical oversight of project
progress and ensure that the execution of all works are compliant with regulatory
requirements, environmental regulations and quality and safety standards, to ensure our client is not in violation of any legal stipulations
- Review monthly payments invoiced by the PMC to effectively monitor the project’s budget and
ensure adequate cost control is performed throughout the project cycle, in line with project
management principles and tools
- Maintain the project risk log and review the Quality Plan of the PMC and contractor to ensure
necessary measures are implemented to ensure project works are executed in line with
established quality and safety standards
- Provide assistance in organizing list of audits with Head of Quality and Excellence and routine site inspections with our clients engineers in accordance with internally established policies and procedures
- Organize and conduct meetings with the ER Head of Engineering, the PMC and Contractor
where necessary to address and resolve delays in construction due to design issues and
critical items which may impact the timely completion of the project
- Review incident and violation reports and ensure that adequate measures are taken to avoid
re-occurrence, in line with internally established policies and procedures
Requirements
- 15 years post graduate experience
- Bsc in Civil Engineering
- Rail and Civil works experience
- Experience of design review and construction of railway projects
Up to AED 75k plus schooling and flights
