An unique opportunity has arisen as the Engineer to the River Lugg Internal Drainage Board.
The position is to provide all aspects of civil engineering matters and all engineering duties in relation to flood risk management for the River Lugg Internal Drainage Board (RLIDB), including Health & Safety , planning consultations, Land Drainage Consent applications, enforcement, setting and monitoring the annual maintenance programme.
The Engineer role is responsible for resolution of drainage and flooding issues large and small, including the effective and timely liaison with and control of relevant outsourced services (including maintenance and environmental advisor) or support commissioned from external sources such as contractors, local authorities, or other relevant external sources or bodies.
To provide a high quality and expert knowledge to respond on behalf of the Board to third parties including (local authorities, Environment Agency, land owners, developers) on a wide range of activities, including but not limited to planning applications, Land Drainage Consents, enforcement matters and rating queries within or that might affect the Boards interests.
Working hours can be flexible, the post holder provides 24/7 emergency engineering service to the RLIDB.
The successful candidate will be expected to work well with the board and also be able to work on their initiative, managing their own workload.
