The Employer's Representative for the Marmaray Project is a Joint Venture of consulting engineers and they are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Engineering Systems Manager to be based in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Engineering Systems Manager, reporting to the Project Manager, will manage a multidisciplinary team of over 25 staff with 7 direct reports covering: Signalling, Communications, Traction Power / OCS, Electrical & Mechanical Building Services, AFC, MMS, SCADA and O&M / Systems Engineering. As the main operation of the railway has been handed over, the aim of the role will be to lead the activities, related to the above systems, to close out all outstanding testing, rectification of defects, and delivery of final documentation, whilst optimising the O&M capabilities, in addition to interacting with the civil, architectural and rolling stock (CR2) groups. Additionally, the role will include the implementation of the Haydarpasa branch line and station, plus the final stage signaling works for 2025 level of operation.
Duration of assignment: The Engineering Systems Manager is required until completion of the construction, installation and testing of works under Contract CR2 and CR3 and for the defect notification period and final account estimated at December 2021 with the possibility of extension to 2022.
The candidate will hold a minimum of a relevant first degree from a recognised university providing engineering courses of at least 4 academic years duration. A relevant professional qualification would be an advantage. The selected candidate will be required to produce original documentary evidence of his/her qualifications and work experience.
