Head of Service (Roads & Infrastructure)

Salary £77,422 - £84,575

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and committed individual to lead the Highland Council’s Roads and Infrastructure Team. You will manage the team responsible for providing technical engineering support to the Council, the strategic overview of roads operation policies and procedures, the road related controls of external developers, and delivering the Infrastructure Capital Programme

You will be professional, dynamic, and ambitious for sustainability with a genuine will to bring continuous improvement to the roads and infrastructure across the Highlands. Making best use of budget and resources you will lead the service re-design and delivery of service improvements in respect of the Roads functions. Overcoming strategic challenges and providing technical support to the roads operational teams, you will have the opportunity to positively impact service delivery and drive forward the quality of our roads network and infrastructure.

You will be an accomplished communicator, who can deputise for the Executive Chief Officer Infrastructure, Environment and Economy and engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders encouraging internal and public understanding of the Service achievements and constraints.
