Leeds is a fast developing and growing City with a large programme of major transport investment in the pipeline, including many interesting and challenging new proposals for the City. Effective traffic management, including improvements to road safety, and associated traffic regulations are essential to the delivery of these programmes and projects and to increasing road safety and sustainable travel in our local communities for which the Traffic Engineering section plays a vital role.
To meet these demands the Council is seeking an experienced traffic engineering professional and team player with a track record of delivery and achievement to assist in leading the team in a large multi-disciplinary directorate and alongside key partners to deliver an efficient, inclusive and safe highway network.
The role will assist the Senior Traffic Engineers in supervision and management of traffic engineering professionals in delivering traffic and road safety engineering solutions to a complex mix of local and strategic issues and the associated engagement and consultation with Councillors, communities and stakeholders. Successful candidates will deliver a wide range of projects and consider issues raised through correspondence from elected members and the general public.
To meet our requirements we are seeking experienced engineers who are able to demonstrate high level communication, strategic thinking and analytical skills.
