The Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) at UCL is renowned for its strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching, and for its creative and innovative approach to educating Civil Engineering students through applied science and design.   We are now seeking to appoint a Senior Teaching Fellow in Civil Engineering Design to join the team co-ordinating the teaching of Design throughout our undergraduate programmes: we are looking for an inspirational and dynamic individual whose principal role will be to co-ordinate the Integrated Design Project, working at the interface between architecture and engineering. The successful applicant will help us to build on our current good practice whilst forming and maintaining excellent partnerships with industry. Other core responsibilities will include teaching Drawing and Civil Engineering Design to undergraduate students. The expected start date is January 2017.

The post-holder will have experience as a Civil Engineering designer, ideally as a chartered engineer. A degree in Civil Engineering or related field at Masters level, or equivalent experience, is essential for this role.   He or she will be proficient in working at the interface between university and industry in developing teaching initiatives that provide an excellent learning experience for our students and reflect industry practice.   We are looking for someone with a proven ability to communicate their engineering design knowledge to our students and staff. We would also expect the post-holder to maintain and extend extensive links with our industrial partners.
