Quantity Surveyor - South East

Building a sustainable tomorrow

Due to our increasing workload a Quantity Surveyor is required to work on our Collaborative Delivery Framework (East) for the Environment Agency on projects ranging value from £50k to £10m. The framework is in year 3 of an initial 4 year term with anticipated extensions taking the contract term through to April 2027. After this you will have the opportunity to transfer within the division on projects throughout Southern England and Wales. The location is currently flexible working with ability to cover the Southern England region as required - current office locations could be Camberley, Shipdham or Godstone.

Your mission

  • Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy.
  • Maintain effective communication with Contract Managers, Project Managers, Managing Quantity Surveyors and other associated disciplines.
  • Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents.
  • Commercial management of subcontractors including payments preparation, final account work, and inputting into dispute resolution.
  • Maintain live forecasts and ensure continued monitoring / challenge of site costs.
  • Produce monthly cost and value reports, quarterly reports and present to senior management.
  • Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
  • Understand and promote usage of Company Procedures and suggest improvements to senior management.
  • Involvement in change management including input to the programme.
  • Ensure timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contract.
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team, and management on all contractual issues.
  • Attend and provide input to all site commercial meetings.
  • Assist in defining and delivery of commercial training to all site staff.
  • Provide input to risk management of projects.

Who are we looking for?


  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be driven and self-motivated
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying experience
  • Have sound commercial and business knowledge
  • Proficient with NEC forms of Contract
  • Have knowledge of other forms of Contract
  • Experience in producing internal and external reports
  • UK driving license


  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • RICS / CICES. member
