Introduction:

Are you a qualified engineer with experience in either the coast protection and cliff management or highways structures sectors? There’s an exciting opportunity for you to join Brighton & Hove City Council.

Our international award-winning Transport Projects & Engineering Team is looking for a new Project Engineer to help us deliver our Transport and Coastal Protection programmes.

Job Description:

As a core member of the Civil Engineering Team within City Transport you will help plan, maintain, and deliver improvements to improve the City’s Transport Network and Protect our Highways structure critical Coastline . Working on high profile projects as part of the Council’s multimillion pound Capital Infrastructure Programmes, this is an important role.

In addition to the technical engineering aspects of the role, you will need to work closely with our key partner organisations including local transport providers, local communities, a variety of teams from across the City Council and neighbouring Authorities and you will support the learning and development of our graduate engineers.

Good communication skills, both speaking and in writing, and experience of stakeholder engagement at senior levels are therefore important attributes as well as technical expertise.
